Abstract

Coupling of 2-chloro-1,10-phenanthroline with a source of Ni(0) affords the tetradentate ligand 2,2'-bi-(1,10-phenanthroline). This ligand and a resulting Ni(II) complex were characterised by X-ray crystallography.
