Abstract
This chapter reviews academic research on men’s practices in the fourteen European countries of the Network: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Russian Federation, Sweden and the UK. Separate national reports were prepared for ten of the nations on the four themes of home and work, social exclusion, violences and health, and these were supplemented by national reviews in four countries. The time framework of the national reports is generally the 1990s, though some information is provided on the 1980s in some cases in order to track changes over time. This is especially important in the transitional nations.1
