Abstract

An adaptive approach was applied to the free oscillation method for fatigue cracks diagnostics. The adaptation consists of the variation of the likelihood ratio with the estimate of the natural frequency of the tested object. The expediency of adaptation was proved for the diagnostic feature, the decrement of free oscillations.
