Abstract

This paper presents a new algorithm for an image reconstruction for Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT). This algorithm is based on the perturbation theory and uses an estimate of the permittivity distribution from a back-projection algorithm. By providing a guess of the D distribution, the problem of limiting the degree of freedom or uncertainty in the image-reconstruction process will be solved. The gain of this new method would not only be a higher speed for the imaging process as it would be possible to implement it on a parallel computation device, in this case the Cellular Neural Network (CNN) paradigm, but also a better resolution than usual back-projection or other techniques.
