Abstract

This book, ‘Architectural imagination and Storytelling’, experiments the relationship between the narrative and the architectural space. The book looks at the narrative as a device to generate, develop and represent architectural ideas and its interventions. The text(s) in the book take a strategy of the novella as a generative methodology to represent the quality of spatial ideas. The book experiments the concept of architecture as text(s). It tries to extend the boundaries of the conventional concept of what architecture supposed to be as physically built projects. The book consists of three main parts which are ‘Prospective: The future beyond the boundary’, ‘Perspective: the extension of the present’ and ‘Retrospective: the reconstruction of the past’. The text(s) are variable from a science fiction story to historical documentation according to the time when the project(s) are situated.

Park's role as one of the editors was editing ‘Prospective’ parts of the book.
Park also contributed a chapter, ‘라브린스 00:06:05’: ‘Labyrinth 00:06:05’ in English.

The first edition was sold out in 2017, and now it is on the 2nd edition. It was an open book’s most sold architecture book in 2018. The book is one of the best selling architecture books in the Kyobo Book Centre since 2014.
