Abstract
This work continues my exploration of Nordic and Scottish folk music and the aesthetics of atmosphere. Fragmented harmonic phrases and processed hardanger fiddle combine to form a composition that is retrained but evocative, drawing the listener in. The composition draws on ideas from my chapter Fragility, Noise and Atmosphere in Ambient Music, in Music Beyond Airports (eds Adkins, M & Cummings S, 2019).
