CD recording (published as Pennine Records PR02) containing performances of a range of music as recorded by celebrated nineteenth-century Austro-German violinists and pianists, emulating their styles and practices as found on early recordings, with former Huddersfield-based Leverhulme Research Fellow (and present Huddersfield VRF), Dr Inja Stanovic. The disc's main innovation is that these recordings are brand new acoustic recordings, made by internationally-renowned acoustic recording engineer Duncan Miller, thereby allowing side-by-side comparison of new emulatory performances with the historical originals. In order to gauge the process, simultaneous modern recordings were also made and will be offered for comparison. The disc therefore has a unique and valuable research basis and as such is an ideal 2nd disc in Huddersfield's Pennine Records catalogue (a label begun by Milsom).
