Abstract

The adoption of inclusive design in design practices allow that everyday products and services could be used satisfactorily by a wide range of individuals independently of their age or physical, sensorial or cognitive capability.
However, the inclusive design principles and methods have not been applied in design practice, mainly in industrial contexts. This paper analyses some of the barriers to its adoption and suggests ways to improve inclusivity by considering the role of clients and designers .
