Abstract

Brain States, Professor Chill’s first album for Disco Gecko Recordings, brings together tracks from his current series of EPs with a selection from his other releases on the label. Described by DJ Magazine as ‘beautiful and intelligent chilled out electronica’, his music combines the sublime textures of ambient dub with the conceptual integrity of IDM to create something original to soothe, rest and stimulate the mind.

Professor Chill’s recent Brain State series focuses on the oscillating electrical voltages know as brain waves, describing what happens in terms of brain state when we are in varying states of consciousness, and brings together the Professor’s experience as a chill out producer and a music technology researcher.
