Abstract
Composition written for Spanish ensemble Vertixe Sonora and premiered in Tui, Spain on 16 October 2022.
The piece takes its title from Cirrus clouds, which are high altitude, thin and wispy cloud streaks formed from ice crystals. These clouds can take different forms, such as resembling spider webs or or strands of hair. Their strands and shapes can also become multi-layered and interlaced/entangled. The piece depicts some of these qualities through delicate sounds and continuously floating textures. The sense of movement and speed generated by the interaction of the instrumental parts as well as their individual gestures and colours reflects the movement discernible in these could forms.
