Abstract

Spatialisation has played an important role in much electroacoustic music. For the most part, however, it has been used to articulate or decorate existing sound structures. This paper looks at ways in which multichannel, spatialisation can become an integral part of the structure of the music, both on the small and large scale. Examples are given from the author's works.
