Abstract

One of two sonic art installations created as part of the live performance event “Borderlands”. The installation is based around a central MAX system (used widely by composers) controlled by an original iPad Music Technology controller app developed at Huddersfield. The source material is an original poem. Therefore this work combines novel controller technology with composition software and original art work. The Borderlands event was run by the IOU Gallery (Halifax). The IOU has successfully secured major funding from the Arts Council of England and principal sponsors, with over 40 years’ experience making contemporary art installations that combine art with innovative technology.
