Cultures of Place: Textiles: Made in Huddersfield: Emerging from 1815: Planned Random and Reasoned Serendipity

Research output: Non-textual formExhibition

Abstract

Cultures of Place is a celebratory showcase of exhibitions, installations, performances, workshops, podcasts, talks and discussion about place.

Textiles: Made in Huddersfield moves away from the heritage and industry of the region. Instead, it focuses on the cultures of textiles that have grown and developed from the research community of staff and students at the University of Huddersfield. Here textiles are explored from a variety of perspectives; as a storytelling device, a way to bring people together, a tool for reflection and observation.

Matthew Taylor exhibited: Emerging from 1815: Planned Random and Reasoned Serendipity, Internationally Co-Created Textile Art responding to the Gleneden Post-War Design Archive Image Design No. 1815.
