Abstract

Online exhibition on the Trinity College London website. Derek Mahon (1941-2020) was a great poet of the modern era and one of the most distinguished literary alumni of Trinity College Dublin. An intriguing item in the extremely rich Mahon archive held by the Rose Library, Emory University, is a collection of plaster fragments for a sculpted bust of the poet. This exhibition pieces together a view of Mahon’s work in its many different phases and aspects to give a sense of the scale of his achievement.
