Abstract
This work in written for the Haworth-Redgate oboe for the oboist Christopher Redgate. It was written as an accompanying work the Unfurling for lupophon and piano. Both works explore new and rare instruments: the lupophon was designed in 2009, whilst the Haworth-Redgate oboe is a redesigned oboe developed in 2012.
Dispersion explores the increased potential for multiphonics and microtones and the extended altissimo range of this form of the oboe.
