Abstract

This chapter begins by discussing what domestic violence is and its different forms. Theories of domestic violence and classifications of offenders will then be examined. Stalking as a separate crime and as a form of domestic violence is briefly described. Finally, the chapter examines risk factors associated with domestic violence, risk assessment measures that are used to assess the risk of future violence and interventions for domestic violence that various agencies carry out.
