Experimental Research on Additive-Manufacturing Metamaterials Applied to Vibration Mitigation

Abstract

With the technical process of additive manufacturing, the potential feasibility of high-precision manufacturing for complex geometric enables 3D-printing technology to fabricate metamaterials effectively. In this paper, 2 kinds of metamaterials structure (metastructure) consist of periodic structures for vibration mitigation fabricated by 3D-printing are proposed. Experimental verification tests are carried out and the results show that the proposed metastructure manifests the vibration attenuates at the range of some certain low frequency, promoting the latent application in fields of vibration isolation and elastic wave mitigation.
