Abstract
Accurate estimation of the transient dynamic coefficients (TDC) of the journal bearing is very significant to the dynamic characteristic analysis of rotating machinery. In this paper, an iteration strategy is formulated based on the Cubature Kalman filter (CKF) to estimate the TDC in the time domain using the measured shaft displacements of the journal-bearing rotor system. By combining the state space model and CKF method, the proposed method can estimate the TDC of journal bearing under varying speeds. Finally, the simulation studies show that the proposed method can efficiently estimate the TDC of the journal bearing.
