Abstract
This chapter aims to provide an overview of the use of Grounded Theory methodology in pharmacy practice research. Grounded Theory does not only provide clearer insights into thoughts and feelings that determine the behaviour of individuals, but it also assists in discovering relationships and concepts that have not been previously defined or explained from the perspective of symbolic interactionism. This will consequently support the development of hypotheses and construction of new theories. Moreover, this chapter explains how the use of Grounded Theory can facilitate theoretical development through continuous comparison with the literature during the process of data collection in pharmacy practice research.
