Based on a comparative study of eight internationally recognised metal producers working from the same multitrack session, it organises insights on heaviness around core production decisions: philosophy (Naturalistic vs Hyperreal), arrangement and performance, drum and guitar engineering, spatial design, and loudness and dynamics.
