Abstract
The current research aimed at examining the effect of High Performance Work System (HPWS) and job engagement on innovative work behavior. Moreover, job engagement is explored as a mediator in the association between HPWS and innovative work behavior. 260 respondents working in service sector organizations of Oman were selected through purposive sampling technique. The results found positive and significant effect of HPWS and job engagement on innovative work behavior. Moreover, HPWS was also found to have a significant and positive effect on job engagement. However, a partial support was found to the hypothesized role of job engagement as a mediator in HPWS and innovative work behavior relationship.
