Abstract

The photograph of the legs shows a now famous photograph of a cyclists legs after a particularly gruelling Tour de France. The colour fade applied over it references the decorative spray work on bicycle frames which come in and out of fashion. The temporary state of the legs and the colour fade are reflected in text which is a quote by art critic Carl Einstein in relation to political thought on the German left in the 1930's.
