Abstract

This research aims to study the impact of critical LPBF process parameters on the resultant surface roughness of LBPF processed 316L stainless steel artefact's top surface using Taguchi design of experiments (DoE). Based on the obtained results, the layer thickness is the most influential parameter, followed by point distance, exposure time, laser power, and hatch spacing which significantly impact the surface roughness of LBPF fabricated parts.
