Abstract

Within the context of discontinuous and unpredictable changes, entrepreneurship is regarded as the means of not only adapting to an environment of discontinuous changes but also be the engine behind socio-economic stability and growth. A balance between economic impact and societal impact needs to be found and that brings transformational entrepreneurship as a distinct form of entrepreneurship into the equation. This book is a study of transformational entrepreneurship and an illustration of its application in different sectors and in various countries through the presentation of case studies. In this introductory chapter, an overview of transformational entrepreneurship is presented and offers a basis from which to read and reflect on the various case studies provided.
