Ionic Transport in Twin Domain Walls

Abstract

We report the results of an investigation into two of the effects which can enhance the rate of diffusion in twin domain walls relative to the domains themselves. These are strains in the wall and elastic softening of the wall. To investigate them we used a three dimensional model ferroelastic lattice, with interactions between first, second, and third neighbours.
