Abstract

The main aim of this research project was to elaborate and propose a way of improving people’s awareness of both the urban environment and the visual language of architectural representation by designing, manufacturing and use of a physical model made by narrative facades. The physical model represents Grainger Street, one of the main historical streets in Newcastle upon Tyne (UK). This research project constituted part of a case study titled Narrative Urban Environments that was part of a multidisciplinary research project titled MyPlace: Mobility and Place for the Age-Friendly City Environment (EPSRC funded).
