Abstract

It is of great importance for individuals to start working life early and acquire knowledge and skills related to their professional fields during their education. Particularly for learning engineering subjects and concepts, relevant technologies should be adapted into education. Recently, for this purpose, Augmented Reality (AR) technologies come to the fore as a highly effective technique with the possibility of perception of depth and visual interaction with objects. In this study, development processes of a specific mobile AR application are examined in order to increase the performance of Technical Drawing learning. In this context, the geometric tolerances widely used in technical drawing subjects in the machine manufacturing-assembly processes with AR on Unity3D applications were developed as mobile AR application. In the application, the concepts of geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) are intended to be easily understandable and teachable.
