Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

This chapter outlines the processes involved in developing and testing a measurement scale. The importance of the different types of reliability and validity are discussed, along with the idea that gathering reliability and validity evidence is a continual process. The chapter also takes you through the key steps of how to develop a scale and the major statistical techniques used to provide evidence for the reliability and validity of a scale. By following these best practice guidelines, researchers and practitioners will be able to develop high quality measurement scales that improve both research and practice.
