Abstract
This report highlights the experiences of 12 mothers during lockdown in May and June 2020. Using novel remote photographic portraiture, it looks at their work at home including the additional responsibility of home schooling. Issues arising include; gender inequality in the nature of work at home, significant effort in maintaining family mental health and well-being, additional stress and anxiety and an impossible situation for lone mothers. Recommendations are made to consider mothers as keyworkers, to include them in planning and preparation for emergency measures and to value their contribution
