Abstract
The ISO/TC213 published the new generation ISO standard system of GPS (Dimensional and geometrical product specification and verification) based on the GPS language. The GPS language system based on metrology mathematics gives the mathematics methods of the expression and specifications of requirements relating to a wide range of workpiece functions between design, manufacture and metrology. The GPS is designed as the means of communication in which designers, production engineers and metrologists exchange unambiguous information concerning the functional requirements of products. The masterplan structure of the GPS system, important concepts, scientific foundations and application techniques in engineering are presented.
