N2 - According to WHO, clean water and vaccines are two public health interventions which have greatest impact on World health.The main aim of immunisation programme is to protect individual from illness and deaths caused by vaccine preventable disease.Childhood immunisation is a series of vaccines recommended by Department of Health, which all children should ideally receive. It is one of the safest,successful and cost effective medical interventions for the achievement and maintenance of public health.This review explores parental beliefs and attitudes which influence their decision-making towards childhood immunisation in UK.Parental attitudes and concerns towards safety of the vaccine is a major obstacle for childhood immunisation. Lack of information and distrust in government and health professionals are the main reasons for it. The positive trend is seen in parental attitudes and beliefs towards vaccinating their children. Health professionals are considered most trusted and reliable source of information.Parents are interested in getting more information about benefits and common side effects of vaccines.
