Abstract
The methanolic extract of the leaves of C. ambrosioides, administered at 100 and 200 mg/kg i.p., produced an inhibition of the carrageenan-induced rat paw oedema and a reduction in writhings induced by acetic acid in mice. It also exhibited antipyretic effect and induced a strong gastrointestinal propulsive movement in mice. Acute toxicity studies showed no mortality up to 1 g/kg p.o.
