Abstract
EAL Polish children in the UK were presented with non-word repetition, rapid automatized naming, phonological awareness, and letter-sound knowledge tasks to assess their phonological processing abilities in both the languages they speak. The results showed a similar level of skill to native-speaking peers in Polish, but the EAL children’s performance on the phonological processing tasks was relatively worse than their English peers.
