Abstract

Chiral diborane(4) compounds, synthesised from B₂(NMe₂)₄ and the relevant chiral diols, react with terminal alkenes in the presence of Pt(dba)₂ (dba = dibenzylidene acetone) affording 1,2-diboryl compounds which have diastereoselectivities up to 60% d.e.
