Abstract

At 2am on a Saturday morning, Gregor, a 27-year-old Polish man, was referred to me for a mental health assessment in my role as a psychiatric liaison nurse in an accident and emergency department. Gregor had been found wandering around London, talking and laughing to himself, giving away his property, and gesticulating with his hand as if holding an imaginary phone to his ear.
