Abstract
The right of every child to the highest attainable standard of health and access to appropriate healthcare and treatment is enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. This chapter unpicks the concepts of health and well-being as they relate to children and the way in which play contributes to the promotion of child health. Practical activities challenge the reader to consider their health priorities and to analyse ways in which they can promote health and well-being in the course of their work.
