Abstract

This paper discusses recent work on developing an ontology that can be used to represent the knowledge inherent in filmed materials. The ontology is intended to be used as the semantic basis for a retrieval system. The focus of the paper is on the method used to develop the ontology. The method is influenced by success that has been achieved in developing Folksonomies.
