Abstract

In this paper, a three-port converter, without capacitor in the common bus, is used for a solar charger application. Two ports of the converter are connected to a solar panel and a battery bank. Third port is used as a LED driver with constant current. This paper analyzes the used converter and proposes special switching, control and design approaches for the mentioned application. The performance of the proposed configuration and approaches are surveyed using simulation results.
