Abstract

The research on objective evaluation of sound quality is a very important application. It aims to propose objective guidelines or characterizing its noise quality, and a valuable tool for the product sound design. Along with the development of the noise control technology, the research on noise quality has being paid more and more attentions, especially in the fields of automobile and household appliance in China. With loudness-adjusted vehicle interior noise as sound stimuli, research on objective evaluation and analysis methods for sound quality of loudness-adjusted vehicle interior noise is made. Based on subjective experiment and analysis, the effect of characters of physics-acoustics, psychoacoustics and statistics on evaluation of sound quality is investigated. In the study, multivariate linear regression can be used to extract less information redundancy and larger interpretive feature from too many parameters at a few samples condition. It's found that along with sharpness and average special loudness, speech intelligibility index exert major effect on evaluation of vehicle interior noise quality. Based on pair-wise comparison of 15 samples, preference mode is established. And the mode is validated by data from semantic differential method of 40 samples. The preference mode proposed by this disquisition has better goodness of fit.
