Abstract

This chapter presents some findings on the review of statistical information on men’s practices in the Network’s countries: Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Russian Federation, Sweden and the UK. Separate national reports were prepared for ten of the nations on these four themes of home and work, social exclusion, violences and health, and these were supplemented by national reviews in Czech Republic, Denmark and Sweden. The time framework in the national reports generally focuses on the 1990s. Information is provided on the 1980s in some cases in order to compare the situation over time. This is especially important in the transitional nations.1
