Abstract
This paper describes the architecture of a System on Chip (SoC) solution that is being developed tbr high-performance, emhedded real-time control applications It integrates among other things a general-purpose processor, an application specific processor (CSP II), an AMBA compliant bus and a serial communication interface on a single FPGA. Most of the design-to-implementation stages are automated by software tools avoiding most of error-prom programming tasks The design methodology is also presented.
