Abstract

Acoustic signals can be successfully used for condition monitoring along with the vibration signals. Despite this fact, there are no publications related to statistical estimates of the cross-correlation between the acoustic and vibration signals captured simultaneously from the same source. The knowledge about the cross-correlation between the acoustic and vibration signals may help to develop optimal damage diagnosis using acoustic and vibration data simultaneously. The cross-correlation between acoustic and vibration data from a multi-stage gearbox are obtained and investigated for the first time.
