Abstract
This paper presents an investigation into the mechanisms of the ballising process, focusing on the effects of operational parameters (overlap and initial surface roughness) on the final surface roughness of ballised components. In order to evaluate the ballising components, the two- and three-dimensional techniques of assessing surface roughness have been applied. The findings show that both results of the two- and three-dimensional measurements are consistent.
