Abstract

Rolling bearing is a key component in mechanical equipment, so it is important to carry out fault diagnosis effectively. It is a crucial step to demodulate the modulation components caused by faults in the fault diagnosis method of rolling bearings. In this paper, an advanced demodulation method called harmonic modulation spectrum (HMB) is proposed considering the complex coupling relationship in the modulation components. HMB can identify the modulation information in the signal accurately and the result is clear and intuitive with fewer redundant components. At the same time, a fault diagnosis strategy based on HMB for rolling bearings is proposed. The linear kurtosis is used to locate the slice with the most fault information in HMB, and the fault feature is extracted to realize fault diagnosis. The effectiveness of this strategy in practical application is verified by the experimental data set of rolling bearing with the outer ring fault.
