Abstract

First a framework for the journey, one suggested by Gerber, uses a hierarchy of behaviours and skill sets associated with the roles of technician, manager, leader and entrepreneur. To this we add the role of innovator which can apply across the range of technician, manager, leader and entrepreneur roles. Using the roles of technician, manager, leader and entrepreneur is not to imply that there are discrete skills and behaviours associated with each role rather that there is a continuum of behaviours.
