Abstract
Triptych for 360˚ audiovisual environment and manipulated field recordings.
Three Perspectives of a Field in Huddersfield explores the audiovisual relationships of a single site as navigated through the medium of Cinematic Virtual Reality. The work takes three separate audio-visual field recordings of the same site and contrasts these, creating a varied series of representations of the same location built upon different perspectives. From changes in the soundscape to a shifting three dimensional perspective on the landscape, graffiti, and clutter that create the visual impact of the space, Three Perspectives of a Field in Huddersfield questions what it means to perceive a space and highlights the choices so often hidden in attempting to create a representation of that space for others.
