Abstract
A key part of the IRiMaS project is the development of TIAALS (Tools for Interactive Aural Analysis) a tool box for musicologists to use in conducting and presenting research in which audio and video are fully integrated into the research process and its dissemination. In previous projects we have produced specific software for each analysis. Here our aim is develop generic tools, usable by musicologists without specialist computing skills. In due course this toolbox will be freely available. Currently, as it is being developed, it is being trialed by the team members in an iterative process in their research into Ethnomusicology, Free Improvisation, Spectral Music and Notated Western Music.
