Tree of Codes, opera (90') for 3 singers and ensemble, libretto by Lim after Jonathan Safran Foer, Bruno Schulz, Goethe & Foucault. Ricordi Berlin Sy.4264/01An opera about bloodlines and memory, time, erasure and illumination based on Jonathan Safran Foer’s Tree of Codes and Bruno Schulz’ Street of Crocodiles scored for soprano, tenor, baritone, sixteen musicians, electronics + theatre performers. Opera commissioned by Oper Köln, Ensemble musikFabrik and HELLERAU – Europäisches Zentrum der Künste, Dresden in co-operation with the Akademie der Künste der Welt Cologne and other festival partners and with support for research from ZKM – Centre for Media and Art and the Australia Council (Senior Creative Fellowship). Premiere 8 April 2016
