Abstract

A UHF TV band log-periodic antenna with 14 dipoles and optimized to reject 4G/5G mobile communications signals at 800 MHz as well as GSM 2G signals at 900 MHz is presented in this study. This new antenna combines reception and filtering in one component and thus avoids the use of expensive external band stop or low pass filters. Its passband frequency range of 470 to 790 MHz is dedicated to digital TV and it provides adequate matching and high realized gain between 9 dBi to 11 dBi. Gain becomes negative in the stopband and it drops to -6 dBi above approximately 800 MHz.
