Abstract

According to the basic principle of spatial straightness in three-dimensional (3D) measurement and the uncertainty theory for the new generation of Geometrical Product Specification (GPS) standards, a calculation method for the uncertainty of spatial straightness in 3D measurement was proposed, assuring the integrity of the verification result and its validity. The experimental results indicated that on the basis of the result of spatial straightness least-square verification and the uncertainty, the spatial straightness could be evaluated quantitatively by the decision rules provided by ISO 14253-1.
